Helping Hands of Vegas Valley plans a Shoot for Seniors sporting clay shoot on May 17 at Pro Gun Club, 12801 U.S. 95 in Boulder City. Check in between 7 and 7:30 a.m. for a day full of shooting, food and raffle prizes. The cost is $700 for a foursome, $200 for individuals,which includes lunch catered by Memphis Championship Barbecue. Bring your own shotgun or rent one for $25.

Safe driving class scheduled

AARP has scheduled a safe driving class for seniors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 16 at the Lieburn Senior Center, 6230 Garwood Ave. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers, plus a $2 annual senior programs membership. The Las Vegas Arts Commission and the city of Las Vegas plan a public reception and awards ceremony for their “Celebrating Life!” fine arts competition from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 24 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.

VETERANS offered a free round of golf

Walters Golf has announced that it will offer a free round of golf to all active and retired military personnel May 26. All veterans with military-issued identification are invited to one free round of golf at any of Walters’ three properties: Bali Hai Golf Club, 5160 Las Vegas Blvd. South; Royal Links Golf Club, 5995 E. Vegas Valley Drive; and Desert Pines Golf Club, 3415 E. Bonanza Road.

Doughnut day brunch planned

Free Movie matinees planned at centers

Cultural center plans overnight trip

The Winchester Cultural Center plans a trip for seniors to the J. Paul Getty Museum in Southern California on May 21-22. Seniors will depart the center, at 3130 S. McLeod Drive, at 7 a.m. May 21 and return at 9 p.m. May 22.

The cost for the trip is $134.50 per person for a double room or $215.50 for a single room and includes transportation, tickets to the museum and an overnight hotel stay. Meals are not included, and trip fees are nonrefundable.

Humana Guidance Centers are offering free walking groups led by a certified personal trainer. Participants will receive a free pedometer and at the end of each outing can upload their steps at a Guidance Center computer kiosk or at home to tracks steps taken, distance and calories burned.
