Trade group to award scholarships

The Nevada Contractors Association, a nonprofit trade group, is now accepting fall semester applications for its David Papadopulo Memorial Scholarship.

Junior and senior-level college students pursuing a construction-related career with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher are encouraged to apply. The submission deadline is July 17.

Winners will receive a cash stipend for school tuition and expenses. The scholarship program was created to honor David "Pappy" Papadopulo, a construction executive and industry leader, who died at age 38. For an application or more information, call 222-0320.

Americana University Offers Course

Americana University, an accredited real estate licensing school, is offering students the required 90 hours of national real estate training and Nevada law studies to obtain their real estate licenses.

Americana University provides Realtors with the education to take both the national and state real estate licensing exams, along with all post-licensing education and continuing education requirements for Realtors.

"We are the first company to start this training again and know that those who are prepared for the rising boom will be most successful in their businesses," said CEO of Prudential Americana Group Mark Stark.

Prudential has 1,100 licensed real estate professionals making it one of the largest real estate companies in the state.

First course begins July 6 and runs from 6 to 10:30 p.m. every weekday through July 31.

Windermere partners with Toll Brothers

Robyn Yates, vice president of marketing for Windermere Services Nevada, recently announced Windermere Prestige Properties will be the listing broker for all Toll Brothers -- broker listings in Las Vegas.

The broker/client relationship came to Windermere through Donna Lefever, a Windermere Prestige Properties broker who previously worked as the sales broker for Toll Brothers Inc. in Las Vegas.

Toll Brothers has several luxury new home communities actively selling throughout the greater Las Vegas area.

Buyers can visit the open sales centers -- Fairway Hills at the Ridges and Traccia in Summerlin, Franklin Park and Madison Grove in Providence, Hidden Canyon Estates and Mirasol at Mountain's Edge. The Henderson locations include Toll Brothers at Inspirada and Vita Bella at Lake Las Vegas.
