Residents of Tuscany Residential Village in Henderson recently celebrated the grand opening of La Vita Tuscana recreation center.
“In planning this event, we tried to offer something for everyone in the family to enjoy,” said Nichole Chadwick, event coordinator for La Vita Tuscana. “We started the day out with a 5K family fun run and a quarter-mile kiddie trot that took the residents on a course around the rec center and through the community.”
Following the run, a clinic was offered by tennis pros who will be scheduling lessons and camps. In the afternoon a kid’s carnival was held in the basketball gym.
“The carnival was a great time for many of the families in the community to meet one another and it was also a chance for us to introduce some of the group exercise classes we are offering on a monthly basis,” Chadwick said. “Our goal is that the homeowners of Tuscany will make this rec center their home away from home.”
The nearly 35,000-square-foot recreation center includes a fully equipped fitness center, billiards room, full-length basketball court, two handball/racquetball courts, meeting rooms, multi-purpose/craft room, locker and steam rooms, kitchen and card room.
An outdoor pool complex contains a lagoon pool, lap pool and hot tub as well as covered seating. An outdoor basketball court, two tennis courts and picnic area are also on the site. The recreation center offers a variety of group exercise classes for the whole family.
“The turnout for this event was amazing.” Chadwick said. “The luau was a huge success. We had lifeguards on staff to watch over the adults and children playing in the pool, and a DJ played music as our guests ate and mingled.”
