Shea Homes to introduce green-certified designs, plans

On June 19 and 20, homebuyers interested in learning about the benefits of green, sustainable and energy efficient living can tour three new model homes by Shea Homes at Ardiente, an age-qualified community in North Las Vegas. Shea will introduce models that offer homebuyers a range of conservation, green construction and eco-friendly features, both standard and optional. Shea green certified floor plans start in the $150,000s.

“Our research has clearly shown that our residents and potential homebuyers have indicated a growing preference for living in homes that are built with energy conservation and sustainability as cornerstones of construction,” said Ryan Smith, Ardiente sales manager. “Buyers at this stage of life love the money-saving features that leave them with more money left over each month to enjoy life. The three new model homes we’re introducing are not only great designs, but also excellent examples of quality green building.”

The North Las Vegas location offers guard gate security, amenities including a 20,000-square-foot recreation center with a private clubhouse featuring two resort-style pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, group exercise room, basketball court, billiard room and a multipurpose meeting facility. Outdoor recreational amenities at Ardiente include tennis and bocce courts, six parks interconnected by 2½ miles of walking and fitness challenge trails and putting course.

Shea Homes has implemented the Environments for Living program as a key component of selected new home construction at Ardiente. The homebuilder has focused on specific standards for tight construction, fresh air ventilation, improved thermal systems, right-sized HVAC equipment, as well as lighting and water conservation, all aimed at delivering homeowner and environmental benefits.

The green certified program’s goal is to reduce a carbon footprint by up to 40 percent and energy costs by 30 percent.

Ranging from 1,400 to 1,900 square feet, Ardiente’s Shea green-certified homes also can include Energy Star appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, washer/dryers, oven range and microwave. Homes also are equipped with Andersen Silver Line dual pane, low-e two vinyl windows and sliding glass doors.

The three new single-story model homes at Ardiente features floor plans offering kitchens with flexible transitions. The master bath areas feature dual vanities, built-in linen storage and closets. Guest bedrooms are situated in separate areas, preserving space and privacy.

On May 29, the public is invited to the Memorial Day celebration and barbecue to honor of all those who served in the armed forces. The event will be held at the Ardiente clubhouse from noon to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served. For more information or to RSVP, call 643-1916.
