SHOOTING STARS EXTRA: DIY works magic on Penn Jillette’s yard

By now, Penn Jillette's a reality-TV veteran, having appeared on everything from "Dancing With the Stars" to "Top Chef." (To say nothing of his and partner Teller's Showtime series, "Bullsh*t!" —which is the cable channel's longest-running show.)

And this week, you can add DIY Network's "Desperate Landscapes" to Penn's reality-TV resume.

The cable channel visits Southern Nevada Wednesday through Saturday to shoot three episodes of the prime-time series — one of which will take place at Penn's Las Vegas lair. It's the biggest makeover project yet for host (and licensed contractor) Jason Cameron and crew: 10,000 square feet of landscape space. (Which they're expected to fill with 17 trees, more than 300 plants, 1,200 square feet of artificial turf and 5,000 square feet of gravel.)

Expected highlights include a maze for Penn's kids and a water feature.

Stay tuned to Monday's Shooting Stars for complete details ...
