Patricia Fiumani said she wanted to simplify her lifestyle and chose a home at The Villas at Solera, an age-qualified village by Del Webb in Henderson.
Fiumani found the Jefferson model to her liking. The upgraded kitchen included granite countertops in the two-bedroom home.
“When I saw the kitchen, I knew this was for me. I really liked the openness of the floor plan,” Fiumani said. “I really did not look very much. As soon as I saw The Villas at Solera, I told my Realtor I was done. This was it. I did not need to see anything else.”
Fiumani selected a home that was near completion. Several options had already been incorporated in the home.
“What the Del Webb design people chose was perfect for me,” she said.
The Jefferson is one of two floor plans available within the neighborhood. Both models offer two bedrooms and two baths and measure 1,519 and 1,590 square feet.
Prices start from the mid-$200,000s.
For Fiumani, one of the most important features was the overall energy efficiency of the homes.
With memories of high power bills in her former home, she was eager to save on heating and cooling costs.
“That did play a big role for me,” she said. “I was impressed by that.”
Each home at Solera is also constructed with Environments for Living building technology, making them 30 percent more energy efficient than even Energy Star-certified homes.
With blown-in cellulose insulation, conditioned attic spaces, 15 SEER air-conditioning units, and dual-paned, vinyl-framed low-e windows, homeowners benefit from decreased internal and external contaminants; increased indoor air quality; decreased heating and cooling usage; and increased comfort, durability and tightness, according to the builder.
