Summerlin announces new neighborhood: Amado by Pulte Homes opens in The Mesa village

Summerlin has announced the opening of its newest neighborhood, Amado in The Mesa village.

Pulte Homes recently opened six distinctive two-story home floor plans ranging from 1,810 to 2,575 square feet in two home collections: Ventana Amado and Terraza Amado. Prices start in the low $200,000s.

“We celebrate this neighborhood grand opening with our longtime building partner, Pulte Homes,” said Kevin Orrock, president of Summerlin. “Amado offers well-designed, energy-efficient floor plans in a picturesque mountainside location. It’s a wonderful place to call home.”

Exterior amenities designed to enhance the overall curb appeal of the neighborhood include paver-laid driveways, walkways, courtyards and covered loggias. Interior features include granite countertops and ceramic tile.

According to Scott Wright, Las Vegas division president for Pulte Homes, these amenities, which are typical in custom homes, are standard at the Pulte Homes in Amado.

“The neighborhood’s features, amenities and location will attract a more sophisticated buyer,” he said.

Pulte Homes has a history as an environmental builder, which is demonstrated in Amado. The neighborhood offers blown-in insulation, 15 SEER-rated air-conditioning systems, tankless water heaters, low-e windows and a heating and cooling energy usage guarantee.

“We’re pleased to see our builders incorporate environmentally friendly design and construction into their neighborhoods,” Orrock said. “Smart and responsible development is the core of the Summerlin master plan.”

Later this year, Richmond American Homes will open additional model homes in Amado.

“This will further diversify the look and offerings of the neighborhood,” Orrock said.

Amado is located in Summerlin’s southernmost village developed to date, The Mesa. The nearly 500-acre village is home to The Mesa Park, a 19-acre village park with to three Little League baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts and playground area; and Bishop Gorman High School, a 35.5-acre 187,000-square-foot, co-ed Catholic college preparatory school.

Developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., Summerlin celebrated its 20th anniversary with a yearlong celebration that commenced in May. The community began to take shape in 1990 and has ranked in the country’s top 10 best-selling master-planned communities in several national surveys for more than a decade.

Located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin encompasses 22,500 acres with about 7,500 acres still remaining to develop.
