The Paradise Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 7 p.m. July 26 at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive.

The Winchester Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 6 p.m. July 27 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.

The Whitney Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 6 p.m. July 28 at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave.

The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 6:30 p.m. July 28 at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

Teen travels to be displayed

Teens are invited to put their name on a map to show library staff and other teens where they’ve been during a display-building event scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. For more information, call 507-3900.

Volleyball league session to begin

Bob Price Courtmasters, a recreational volleyball league for adults 18 or older, is set to begin Session 5 at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Robert E. “Bob” Price Recreation Center, 2050 Bonnie Lane. League scoring is based on individual points with the top three finishers receiving league prizes. The league is set to meet for six weeks from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays. The game costs $2 each day. The Parkdale People Program Meet is set from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday and Aug. 29 at the Parkdale Senior Center, 3200 Ferndale St. Residents are invited to meet with Parkdale staff members and discuss ideas for trips, classes and special events for September and November. Club to design Birthday cards

Smiles for Miles is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Parkdale Senior Center, 3200 Ferndale St.

The senior group meets on the fourth Monday of each month and is seeking new members.

Library to host Yu-Gi-Oh! open dueling

Open play of Yu-Gi-Oh!, a collectable trading card game, is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Players must bring their own decks and be younger than 18. For more information, call 507-4010.

Seniors to go behind scenes at aquarium

A trip for seniors 50 or older to the Silverton aquarium is scheduled to leave the Parkdale Senior Center, 3200 Ferndale St., at 10:30 a.m. and return at 12:30 p.m. July 27. Participants are set to get a backstage tour of the mermaid show and see tropical fish, sharks and stingrays. Lunch is planned at a local restaurant. Blackjacks to play scrimmage match

On Monday, cribbage is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Wii bowling is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, canasta and hand and foot are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Scrabble is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Chinese mah-jongg and Yahtzee are scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m., and pinochle is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, the Wii bowling league is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration is required at the center. Skateboard park plans competition

A Hometown Heroes event is planned beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at SkateCity Indoor Skateboard Park, 4915 Steptoe St. Practice and warm up is set from 2 to 4 p.m. with skateboarding competition beginning at 4 p.m. The event is set to include free burritos and a release party for a Tech Deck toy skateboard honoring SkateCity.
