Teacher gives La Tierra residence high grade

Karla Allen, a teacher for 30 years, purchased a home at William Lyon Homes’ La Tierra in North Las Vegas.

She found the home after a lengthy search.

“Nothing floated my boat so I returned to La Tierra and fell right back in love with the home that originally caught my eye,” she said of the 1,718-square-foot Plan One residence. “It’s spacious and feels larger than it is with the 9-foot-high ceilings. The arches leading into each bedroom area beg you to walk through them. The whole layout is very warm and inviting.”

With the help of William Lyon Homes’ $5,000 educator incentive for flooring, Karla purchased the Plan One home within the all-single-story neighborhood.

The residence includes three bedrooms, two baths, a front porch, great room, dining room and an island kitchen.

Home buyers can opt for a den in lieu of the third bedroom, a kitchen desk, back patio covers and a fireplace in both the great room and master bedroom.

Karla pointed out the benefits of Plan One’s bedroom configuration.

The home’s centrally located entry separates the master suite from the secondary bedrooms.

“When my daughters and their families visit from Fresno, we all have privacy. You can’t hear snoring through the walls,” she said.

“No matter how many people are gathered here, we never bump into each other. That’s the sign of a great home design.”

La Tierra offers four single-story floor plans measuring 1,718 to 2,419 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths.

Buyers can choose from designs with great rooms, traditional layouts, dens, courtyards, patio covers and fireplaces. Every floor plan includes a two-car garage with the exception of Plan Four, which can be built with a three-car garage. Homes are priced from the upper $200,000s.

William Lyon Homes is also selling La Tierra’s popular floor plans at Tierra Este, a recently opened single-story community located just a few blocks from La Tierra. Tierra Este is a cul-de-sac community of 22 home sites, each exceeding 6,700 square feet.

Homes at both communities feature 9-foot ceilings, walk-in closets, interior laundries, decorative plant shelves and art niches.

Some kitchens include an island workstation. Interiors are appointed with custom recessed lighting, raised-panel doors with satin chrome levers, programmable thermostats and ceramic-tile entries.

An oval garden tub with cultured marble surrounds and separate cultured marble shower stall highlights each master bath.

William Lyon Homes offers a $5,000 flooring incentive to teachers and Clark County School District employees who qualify and use the preferred lender.

To tour model homes, take Interstate 15 to Craig Road and exit west. Turn right on North 5th Street, left on Washburn Road and left on Goldfield Street, following the signs to La Tierra.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Mondays when the sales center opens at noon.
