Team Ford Lincoln races to aid cancer awareness

Ten volunteers from Team Ford Lincoln participated in the 18th annual Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure in downtown Las Vegas.

“It’s about finding a cure,” said Sue Walton-Robertson, Team Ford Lincoln’s human resources director. “It’s also about raising awareness and money to fund the research needed to find that cure. Every single one of us has been somehow affected by this terrible disease, whether personally or through a friend or family member.”

Since 1982, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer, transforming how the world talks about and treats the disease and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.

Team Ford Lincoln and its team raised about $1,400 with their effort.

Participating in the event were Penny Becker, Tara Boshnack, Carla Dalba, Louise Johnstone, Brody Lakatos, Michele McKinney, Kristine Rankens, Nancy Rhoades, Sasha Rosa and Walton-Robertson.

“We’re so proud of our team members for getting behind such a great cause,” said Steve Olliges, president of Team Ford Lincoln. “Susan G. Komen does so much throughout the country for breast health programs and cancer research, and here locally, the Southern Nevada chapter is a wonderful resource which we’re happy to support.”

Team Ford Lincoln, at U.S. Highway 95 and Ann Road, has been the No. 1 Ford dealer in Nevada for five consecutive years and offers sales, service and parts. Visit www.teamford.com for more details.
