Thanks for the irony, Jeanne Shaheen and Hillary Clinton

Over the weekend, Hillary Clinton traveled to New Hampshire to stump for endangered U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and provided aficionados of American political irony cause to smile.
Shaheen is locked in a tight battle with Scott Brown, who, after he lost his bid for re-election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, moved to New Hampshire to run against Shaheen.
Clinton, as you will remember, also shopped around for a state to run in for U.S. Senate and settled upon New York (not her home state).
So anyway, there’s Clinton standing beside Shaheen and here’s the opening paragraph of the story:
“NASHUA, NH – In introducing Hillary Clinton to the pumped-up crowd at Nashua Community College on Nov. 2, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, was able to condense her campaign message to voters into one mighty zinger: ‘She traveled 956,000 miles as Secretary of State – that’s nearly as many miles as Scott Brown traveled looking for a Senate seat to buy,’ said Shaheen.”
The writer called it a “mighty zinger.” But it was oh so much more than that. C’mon, people. If you can’t smile at that, then you’ve lost all perspective on the wacky world of American politics.
PS: Republicans: Vote Tuesday.
PPS: Democrats: Vote early, vote often.
