NONPROFIT HOSTS MOTHER’S DAY FUNDRAISER

HopeLink of Southern Nevada plans a Mother’s Day fundraising campaign through April 30.

The nonprofit offers to send personalized Mother’s Day cards or post a memorial message on its website through May for $20 donations.

The proceeds are set to benefit local struggling mothers with food, supplies and shelter.

HENDERSON COUPLE GIFT FIFTH DONATION TO HENDERSON LIBRARIES

Henderson residents Robert and Sandy Ellis gifted a fifth donation of $25,000 to Henderson Libraries April 7 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway.

The funds are set to be used for science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) programming for children at libraries’ four branches.

Within four years, the Ellises have made four additional donations of $25,000 that supported the construction for the Green Valley Library’s Teen Lounge, increased the libraries’ book collections, funded tablets to be used in programs and training classes, created Summer Reading Programming for all ages and assisted in the implementation of the Solar Project at Paseo Verde Library.
