WORTH A DRIVE

-- The Discovery Children’s Museum is scheduled to open to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday. The three-story, 58,000-square-foot Donald W. Reynolds Discovery Center, 360 Promenade Place adjacent to the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, will be home to nine themed exhibition halls and a traveling exhibit gallery set to feature “Discover the Real George Washington: New Views from Mount Vernon” through May 15. The new building is nearly twice the size of the now-closed Lied Discovery Children’s Museum on Las Vegas Boulevard. Through May the museum is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $12.
