Welcome to Las Vegas, Mr. President
I really like what you did with Osama bin Laden and Moammar Gadhafi. Not so sure about the Iraq troop pull-out. Sounds like a political stunt that invites Iran to embarrass the United States -- again.
But that said, let me add this: What the hell are doing to our economy?
First you disrespect Las Vegas' lifeblood, tourism. Then you proceed to fumble around for almost two years telling us from your mouth that jobs are No. 1, but doing next to nothing about it.
To this day you do not see clearly part of the problem -- government involvement in the housing industry that forced banks to loan money to people who had no real way of paying it back. That's on you and your party, Mr. President. It facilitated the bursting of the bubble.
Nevada's jobless rate leads the league, Mr. President. Our woes stem not from a loss of public sector jobs, but the huge loss of construction and gaming jobs -- all private sector jobs. You complain about outsourcing of American jobs, but you suck up to Big Gaming for campaign $$ while they send Las Vegas cap-x dollars to Macau. That's just hypocritical on your part, Mr. President.
So, welcome to Las Vegas, Mr. President. Glad you're out of the Washington, D.C., Beltway where you might get someone to tell you the unvarnished truth.
And that is this: You're an 8 on the War on Terrorism (on a scale of 1-10). But on the economy you're a 2.5. Stop spending and start jumpstarting the American private sector.
Otherwise, you're headed for defeat. You can read more about how that's likely to happen here.
