What? Election common sense in Chicago?

Who’d-a-thunk-it? Chicagoland, home of the voting dead, now witnesses an outbreak of election common sense. The Illinois Appellate Court has ruled that former Obama Administration chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, can’t be on the ballot for Chicago mayor because he wasn’t a resident of Chicago for one year prior to the election.

Of course, everybody knew that, since he lived and worked for Obama in Washington, D.C., for the last two years. But sometimes election law and common sense don’t connect. And that’s not just in Chicago. Anyway, you can find the developing (and most remarkable) Chicago story here.
