YOUR WEEKEND: Enjoy ice cream and a movie in the Village of Centennial Springs
It may not be comparable to the District at Green Valley Ranch, that popular multi-use destination in Henderson, but the Village of Centennial Springs is coming along slowly. New businesses are popping up at the Village, located just off U.S. Highway 95 and Durango Drive, at Farm Road and Tule Springs Road. The latest addition is Body Balance for Performance, which specializes in
customizing fitness plans for serious golfers.
But the real effort to create a nostalgic, Main Street USA-themed experience comes in the form of the community events held in the Village's Pop Squires Park, and another one is planned for Saturday, July 19. From 6 to 8 p.m., an ice cream social including games, face painting and musical entertainment takes over, with free ice cream for the first 300 guests. At 8 p.m., the Disney/Pixar favorite "A Bug's Life" will be projected on a big screen in the park's amphitheater.
The family friendly event is free, and everyone is invited. For more information, visit www.centennialsprings.com.
