YOUR WEEKEND: Parade, festival and other events planned at Las Vegas Pride celebration

The weekend is packed with events as part of the Las Vegas Pride celebration, featuring live entertainment, games, dancing and more. The yearly event marks the anniversary of the Stonewall riots of 1969, which sparked a civil rights movement led by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgenger, queer and other activists with nonconforming sexual orientations and gender identities.

Friday
The annual Pride Parade is set to step off at 8 p.m. at Fourth Street and Bridger Avenue and end at Las Vegas Boulevard and Stewart Avenue. An after-party is planned for 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. at Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar at the Plaza, 1 S. Main St., for ages 18-plus.

The Shondes are among bands set to perform at Saturday's Pride Festival. The group is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m.

Saturday
The Pride Festival is scheduled for noon to 10 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. A Pride Festival after-party for ages 21-plus is set for 10:30 p.m. at the Bare Pool Lounge at The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
