Billionaire David Tepper to Reportedly Buy Carolina Panthers Tepper, who is a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to formally purchase the team on Tuesday. Current owner Jerry Richardson announced his plans to sell the Panthers in December following allegations of workplace misconduct. According to multiple reports, Tepper will purchase the team for around $2.2 billion.
