1. A 15-year-old girl called police Sunday night and told them her stepfather shot her mother and then himself. Police responded to the call shortly after 8:30 p.m. to the scene where the man shot his wife multiple times before shooting himself. The couple had no prior domestic violence reports. Police say the teen is with police and safe.
2. A University of Nevada Reno student that participated in a white nationalist rally Friday has denounced violence that erupted over the weekend. Peter Cvjetanovic said he attended the rally to “honor the heritage of white culture” and does not advocate for violence. Over 100 people attended a rally in North Las Vegas Sunday night to honor a woman who died and many others injured in the Charlottesville protest.
3. The Maloof brothers, who own a minority stake in the Vegas Golden Knights, placed a monster bet on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight late last week. Gavin Maloof confirmed the $880,000 bet for Mayweather over the weekend and said Mayweather is a good friend. If Mayweather wins, the Maloofs will win $160,000 and say the money will be donated to charity.
1. Officers identified a teenage suspect, De’Mario Lofton-Robinson, in the death of a CSN nursing student. Lofton-Robinson, 18, was arrested Thursday on multiple charges, including murder with a deadly weapon. Police say Gabriel George Valenzuela pulled into his driveway and checked his mail before getting into a confrontation with four men. He was shot at least 3 times in his driveway.
2. A federal judge cut a defendant’s testimony short in the middle of his Bunkerville standoff retrial. Before starting the trial, U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro barred the defense from referencing constitutional rights to assemble or bear arms and prosecutors objected to Eric Parker’s reference to a sniper being involved in the standoff. The court said Parker violated a court order in his testimony.
3. A naked man shot by police last Saturday had $30,000 with him. Court documents show that Jason Funke had donated to the Life Spring Christian Church before and police found the money with his clothing in the church doorway. Police say Funke appeared to be meditating outside the church when he approached police and then fled to retrieve a gun left on the ground.
1. A 25-year-old man was shot and killed overnight after checking his mail. The man got into a confrontation with four other men, before he was shot three times. (video) Police didn’t know a motive and were investigating what the group of four was doing nearby.
2. Footage released of the officer shooting an armed naked man Saturday show the man complied with police before turning around and running back toawrd his gun. Police say Jason David Funke suffered a gun shot wound in his upper shoulder, and faces gross misdemeanor charges of possession of a dangerous weapon at a school or child-care property and indecent exposure.
3. And developing this morning, police are investigating an incident on the Strip near Treasure Island. No further details are known at this time, but be sure to check back with reviewjournal.com for all the updates.
1. A shooting on the Las Vegas Strip led to a temporary shutdown of Las Vegas Boulevard overnight. Police say a group of men got into an argument in front of Planet Hollywood Resort and when they were crossing the street toward Bellagio, a man fired one shot. No one was injured and the man was arrested.
2. Las Vegas driving will look different in a few years time. The Nevada Department of Transportation says it plans on creating carpool lanes along Interstate 15 and digital signage around the Spaghetti Bowl will be installed beginning in October. Eventually, the express lane along Interstate 15 will become a general travel lane and a carpool lane will be added.
3. A growth spurt has helped Mesquite become what some call a “Little Vegas”. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Mesquite grew nearly 15 percent between 2011 and 2016. Residents are hopeful the growth in the city will lead to more businesses opening and an influx of jobs.
1. North Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal shooting in the Aliante master-planned community. Police say someone in a white pickup truck shot at the victim in the road after an altercation. The man shot was in critical condition and later died at University Medical Center. No arrests have been made.
2. Las Vegas City Council is considering a measure to let adult sex stores expand in downtown Las Vegas. The new measure would allow adult emporiums that draw at least 35 percent of revenue from books, magazines, sexual novelties, photos and videos to expand or alter stores. Councilman Bob Coffin says he believes the measure will help improve the area.
3. The Killers played a pop-up show on the Las Vegas Strip last night that aired on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Fans lined up early to catch the 10-song set outside of Caesars Palace, parts of which aired on Monday’s late night show.

1. A suspect in a deadly shooting following a dominoes game may have continued had he not run out of ammunition. An arrest warrant states that Frederick D. Martin Jr., 57, got angry during the dominoes game because he thought someone was making fun of him and shortly after grabbed a gun from his waistband, shooting 3 people. The report says when Martin attempted to shoot a fourth person, the gun had no more bullets.
2. A second suspect in the Miracle Mile Shops shooting last Thursday has been arrested. Jaime Gonzalez, 35, turned himself in on Saturday, just two days after Jonathan Ozuna, 34, was arrested. Two security guards were shot in the parking garage at the Miracle Mile Shops attempting to apprehend two suspects who reportedly stole merchandise from Sunglass Hut.
3. The Oakland Raiders might not be in Vegas yet, but there’s already activity at their stadium site. A homeless encampment has moved in, setting up wooden pallets, a mattress and more along Dean Martin Drive. Construction for the new stadium is expected to being in January.

1. Two people are dead and another was shot in the head after an argument broke out over a game of dominoes at a northeast Las Vegas home Sunday night. After an argument began, a man went to his car to retrieve a gun and opened fire inside the home on the 4400 block of Wendy Street near East Craig and North Walnut roads. Two men in their 20s were killed and a third man in his 30s was shot in the head and is now stabilized. Police are still looking for the suspect.
2. A Las Vegas woman died from choking injuries Friday morning, according to the Clark County Coroner. On June 3, police were called to a break-in at a home on the 1900 block of Sirocco Court when an arriving officer said he found Stella Martinez on the ground being choked by her ex-boyfriend Christopher Wood. Police attempted to revive Martinez but she later died. Wood faces attempted murder, attempted burglary and domestic battery by strangulation charges.
3. A pedestrian has died after being struck by an SUV early Monday morning. Police responded to a call about the accident on Tropicana near Wilbur Street and Maryland Parkway around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The pedestrian later died at an area hospital.
1. A homeless man was shot during a Sunday night shootout in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven. Police say that just before 7 p.m., a shooter in a vehicle opened fire on two people standing in the 7-Eleven parking lot on Rancho Drive near Washington Avenue. One of the men fired back and a homeless man was struck in the crossfire. The two men with guns were arrested and the homeless man is in unknown condition.
2. The Clark County coroner has identified a man shot and killed at an adult store over the weekend. Police say 31-year-old Starsky Tautava entered Adult World around 7 p.m. Friday when a part-time security guard said he recognized the man for previously destroying property inside the business. The two got into an altercation when the guard drew a gun and shot Tautava in the chest. As of Friday night, the guard had not been arrested.
3. Brace yourselves for heavy traffic ahead of EDC weekend. The music festival is expected to clog up I-15 between Craig Road and Speedway Boulevard, which is already facing delays due to construction. Next Monday’s morning commute could also clog with partiers competing with usual work traffic. Officials are warning EDC attendees that traffic and high temperatures can be rough on vehicles and suggest stocking up cars with emergency supplies like water and car chargers.
1. A Las Vegas police officer used a Taser on a man 7 times before using a chokehold for more than a minute Sunday before his death. According to police, officer Kenneth Lopera believed Tashi Brown was attempting to carjack someone outside of The Venetian when Lopera used a Taser on Brown 7 times, struck him and administered a chokehold before Brown became unresponsive. The driver of the truck says he didn’t feel he was being carjacked and Brown would not have faced any charges had he survived. Officer Lopera is currently on paid leave while Brown’s death is investigated.
2. Henderson police chief Patrick Moers faces an internal investigation after he sent out mailers to local businesses promoting Friends of Henderson Police Department Foundation, which Moers said was the department’s only authorized fundraising group. Henderson Mayor Debra March said she was concerned by the mailer and a spokesman with the police department says the city is reviewing its policies in regards to charitable activities.
3. UFC president Dana White and Conor McGregor have agreed on a deal to fight boxer Floyd Mayweather. White said late Wednesday that UFC and McGregor came to terms on a deal and now they must work on a deal with Mayweather’s team. Terms have yet to be released.

1. A judge set bail at $350,000 Friday for the man charged with murder after a single punch killed a father of five outside Fremont Street Club. The Las Vegas Justice of the Peace weighted James Beach’s criminal past, which includes an attempted murder conviction.
2. The mas accused of fatally shooting a bus passenger on the Strip in March was found incompetent to stand trial Friday. The judge ordered him sent to a state mental health facility in Las Vegas for treatment that could lead to a competency finding, and prosecution later. Roland Bueno Cardenas faces multiple charges including open murder and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
3. One person is dead after a shooting in the west valley Saturday afternoon. Police responded to Stober Court near South Rainbow Boulevard and West Flamingo Roads for reports of a person shot in the middle of the road. That person was taken to UMC for surgery, where they later died.
1. A former Las Vegas nightclub promoter was acquitted Thursday of kidnapping and sexual assault charges. A 25-year-old woman testified that Frederick Richards took her to his home in Rhodes Ranch after meeting at Hyde nightclub, and that she awoke the next morning with her underwear across the room. Jurors said they felt the state couldn’t prove the woman’s testimony and that it wasn’t an easy decision to acquit Richards.
2. A man was shot and killed at a northwest Las Vegas apartment complex. Police were dispatched to Bloom Apartment Homes on Gowan Road near Tenaya Way at about 6 p.m. Thursday, where they found a man dead inside a car. Police are still investigating.
3. The Raiders are set to name a general contractor for a new Las Vegas stadium. Raiders president Marc Badain said Thursday that a contract has yet to be finalized, but that they’re working with a Minneapolis-based firm Mortensen Construction that is partners with McCarthy Building Companies in Henderson. A timeline released by the Stadium Authority estimates stadium groundbreaking by late December or early January.

1. James Beach, the suspect in a tourist’s one-punch death, made his first court appearance Wednesday. Beach’s attorney said that there was never an intention to hurt anybody and that the incident was a terrible accident. Beach is being held without bail at Clark County Detention Center.
2. A police report shows a March shooting death in the east Las Vegas Valley was fueled by drugs, sex and jealousy. According to the report, Derrian Stephens was high on meth and with his girlfriend when Eric Flores came to talk with her. Stephens was upset and hit the woman with a fire extinguisher and left. Later, when the woman went with Flores to Stephen’s house to claim her things, an argument ensued and Flores shot Stephens in the neck. Flores was arrested Monday on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
3. UNLV forward Dwayne Morgan has been suspended after an arrest over the weekend. Morgan was arrested early Saturday on a disorderly conduct charge after a dispute with a cabdriver. UNLV athletics issued a statement saying they are aware of the situation and have suspended Morgan indefinitely.
