Calm, cool week ahead for Las Vegas

The start of the new week in the Las Vegas Valley will be cool and sunny, the National Weather Service said.

Mostly clear skies in the valley through the end of the week will be paired with some afternoon breezes between 10 to 15 mph.

Before the drop in temperatures, according to the weather service, Sunday should hit 90 degrees.

As a low-pressure system sweeps the valley Monday, the high temperature should plummet more than 10 degrees, the weather service said. The forecast high that day is 79 degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday will follow with highs of 82 and 84, respectively.

“That system will exit by the end of the week allowing temperatures to warm,” meteorologist Jim Harrison said.

Highs through the weekend are forecast near 87 degrees, with lows in the mid-60s.
