Cool weekend in store in Las Vegas for Life is Beautiful

Updated September 22, 2017 - 8:58 am

Weekend temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley will be well below normal, the National Weather Service said.

Life is Beautiful, a three-day music festival taking over the streets of downtown Las Vegas, will kick off with a forecast high of 77 degrees on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s forecast high will be 79, the weather service said.

Overnight lows should be near 58 degrees this weekend.

“By Vegas standards, it’s pretty cold out there,” meteorologist Dan Berc said of the cooler conditions. The average temperature for this time of year is about 90 degrees.

Breezy conditions are forecast to persist through the weekend with sustained winds of 10 mph and gusts between 15 and 20 mph, the weather service said. Festivalgoers can also expect mostly sunny skies this weekend with no chance of rain during Life is Beautiful.

By Monday, forecast highs will begin climbing into the upper 80s.

“We’ll be getting back to near normal next weekend,” Berc said.
