Strong gusty winds for Tuesday in Las Vegas Valley

Tuesday’s strong winds should begin to relax Wednesday, and the week’s temperatures should be above normal, the National Weather Service said.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy and dry with a high of 70 degrees and light winds, meteorologist Chris Outler said.

Thursday’s 76-degree expected high will be just 2 degrees shy of the record high temperature for that day, the Weather Service said.

Temperatures are expected to cool down by the weekend with the passing of a storm system Friday and Saturday. There is a 20 percent chance of showers late in the day Friday until lunchtime Saturday, Outler said.

The high will be near 73 degrees Friday, but Saturday and Sunday’s forecast highs will dip to 64 degrees, the Weather Service said. Skies should return to mostly sunny on Sunday.
