Strong winds, dry weather contribute to fire warning in Southern Nevada

After the coolest overnight low since Memorial Day, the Las Vegas Valley should see a warm day with light breezes.

The overnight low Wednesday is expected to dip to 64 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The high is expected to reach 89 degrees.

Breezes under 10 mph are expected in the valley Wednesday, meteorologist John Adair said.

“We can say goodbye to the wind,” he said.

No rain is expected for Las Vegas throughout the rest of the week, Adair said. After Wednesday, temperatures are expected to rise back up into the 90s, the weather service said.

Thursday and Friday are expected to have highs of 92 and 93 degrees, respectively. Saturday and Sunday return to near-normal temperatures with highs of 95 degrees and 97 degrees.
