Updated September 21, 2017 - 10:42 am

Strong winds were expected to sweep through the Las Vegas Valley on Thursday.

Winds could gust up to 45 mph, the National Weather Service said. Sustained winds are expected to be between 20 to 30 mph. The weather service issued a wind advisory for the valley that will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Due to winds, the Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management issued a dust advisory Thursday.

The forecast high for Thursday was 82 degrees.

On Friday, the first day of the three-day Life is Beautiful festival in downtown Las Vegas, the forecast high is 77 with light breezes, the weather service said.

Saturday and Sunday will follow with highs of 77 and 79, respectively. Nighttime lows throughout the weekend are expected to be in the upper 50s.

A warming trend is expected early next week, with Monday’s high forecast at 81, ticking up to 84 on Tuesday.
