Temperatures will be warmer than average this weekend until a cold front moves through the Las Vegas Valley next week, the National Weather Service said.
Saturday will hit 88 degrees, while Sunday reaches a high of 89. According to the weather service, the average temperature high for this time of year is near 85 degrees.
A cold front expected to arrive late Sunday evening will bring “very strong winds behind it,” meteorologist Clay Morgan said. The worst of the winds, gusting up to 40 mph, will occur Sunday night. Leftover winds gusting up to 20 to 30 mph will be present in the valley Monday morning and afternoon.
“Winds should be over and done with by Monday evening,” Morgan said, “and then temperatures will start to creep back up.”
The temperature high Monday and Tuesday will be 74 and 79, respectively, but by Wednesday, the forecast highs in the valley will return to the mid-80s.
