Las Vegas Valley to stay hot and dry with no chance of rain
The Las Vegas Valley is set to stay hot and dry, according to the National Weather Service.
After temperatures reached 104 at McCarran International Airport on Thursday, temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-90s over the weekend. Breezy winds will continue but should lessen as the weekend progresses.
With a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and high temperatures, much of Southern Nevada will be under a Red Flag fire danger warning through Friday evening.
But temperatures should fall below the triple-digit mark on Saturday and there’s less than a 10 percent chance of rain through the weekend.
“That sounds really nice to me,” meteorologist Alex Booth said.
Friday’s high should drop to 101 with a morning low near 80. Winds Friday will mirror those on Thursday: sustained winds between 20 and 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Highs will continue to fall on Saturday with a high of 95 and a morning low of 76. Winds will weaken to between 15 and 20 mph Saturday, and weaken further to 10 and 15 mph on Sunday.
Sunday and Monday should both reach about 94 degrees, with respective morning lows near 72 and 69 degrees, the weather service said.
