Allegiant passenger traffic up 5.1 percent in May

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Airlines grew its scheduled passenger traffic by 5.1 percent during May while increasing its number of scheduled flights by almost 2 percent.

Allegiant flew 456,673 scheduled passengers in May, up from 434,501 passengers a year ago. Allegiant flew 3,341 scheduled flights during the month, compared with 3,283 flights in the same month last year.

Allegiant flies to smaller, regional markets, connecting passengers with Las Vegas, Phoenix, and destinations in Southern California and Florida.
