Alamo reappointed to second term on Nevada Gaming Commission
Las Vegas physician Tony Alamo Jr. was reappointed Friday to a second four-year term on the Nevada Gaming Commission by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Alamo’s new term expires at the end of April 2016. He was first appointed to the commission in 2008 by Gov. Jim Gibbons.
Alamo, who has worked as a health and safety advocate beginning with his role as a ring physician, has served as chairman of the Medical Advisory Board, and as a member of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He finished his last year as chairman of the Nevada State Athletic Commission in 2007.
Sandoval said in a statement he appreciated Alamo’s work as the Gaming Commission enacted regulations for intrastate Internet gaming earlier this year.
“His knowledge, thought process and experience will be extremely valuable as we continue work to maintain Nevada as the gold standard in gaming regulation,” Sandoval said.
