Power restored at Flamingo after hotel construction causes outage

Power at portions of the Flamingo were out most of Friday in connection with construction of the neighboring $180 million Gansevoort Hotel.

Electric power was interrupted to one of the six hotel towers at the Flamingo but restored just before 3 p.m.

Caesars Entertainment Corp. owns the Flamingo and Gansevoort, formerly Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall.

“The outage, which occurred at 8 a.m. today, has affected casino-level retail and other areas connected to that tower,” Caesars spokeswoman Debbie Munch said Friday in a statement. “Flamingo is assisting affected guests, has arranged to install a generator while repairs are in progress and hopes to restore power to affected areas by mid-afternoon today.”

In an email, Munch said power was restored at 2:58 p.m.
