Lighting company moves headquarters from Honolulu to Las Vegas
High Tech Lights has relocated its corporate and international headquarters in Las Vegas from Honolulu.
The company designs, develops and manufactures LED or light-emitting diode solid state light products and is currently hiring a full staff. Within 12 to 18 months, the company expects to employ more than 100 people.
In a statement, High Tech Lights is relocating research and development, manufacturing, assembly and operations to Las Vegas from current facilities in Hawaii and China. The company is currently seeking a facility large enough to house its manufacturing and assembly operations.
The company produces lighting products for commercial, industrial and residential applications.
In its statement, High Tech Lights said the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March accelerated its move into the North American market.
Terry Jones, company founder and chief executive officer, said the company selected the Las Vegas for its headquarter because of its “green” business-friendly environment, proximity to California and Southwest markets and because it is an established gateway to existing Pacific Rim markets.
