Bullhead City police investigate suspicious death of baby
KINGMAN, Ariz. — Police detectives in Bullhead City are trying to determine who caused the suspicious death of a 7-month-old boy.
Agency spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said emergency crews responded to a report of a baby not breathing at his parents’ home in the 600 block of Palo Verde Drive on April 9.
Richard Joshua Cromwell was rushed to a local hospital, then flown to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas in critical condition.
Fromelt said medical experts advised detectives the infant’s severe brain bleed injuries were not accidental.
The case became a homicide when Cromwell died shortly after he was taken off life support on Sunday .
Fromelt said the medical examiner determined the infant suffered a skull fracture and died of blunt force trauma by assault.
“We have conducted countless interviews and served a search warrant into the home of the baby’s parents,” Detective Mary Garcia said. “Investigations like these can be very time-consuming, and every effort is being made to identify and collect the evidence necessary to arrest the persons responsible for this heinous crime.”
