East valley homicide victim identified

A Las Vegas man found dead in his east valley apartment on Thursday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Police went to 49-year-old William Sanford’s home about 4 p.m., because a neighbor reported what might be blood on the sidewalk outside.

The area on Meikle Lane, near Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards, was blocked off until late Thursday evening. Las Vegas police detectives with the violent crimes unit initially investigated, and then homicide detectives took over.

Metro could not identify any suspects or motives, and the cause and manner of death were not released on Friday.
