Judge’s son arrested on reckless driving charge
The 19-year-old son of District Judge Donald Mosley was arrested Friday on charges of reckless driving, jail records show.
Michael D. Mosley was arrested by the Nevada Highway Patrol in the misdemeanor driving violation. He had outstanding warrants for registration violations, unlawful acts of financial responsibility and three parking violations, records show.
A woman who answered the judge’s phone Friday said Donald Mosley was out of the jurisdiction and had no comment.
The judge’s son has been in trouble before.
In 2008, Michael Mosley faced criminal charges for his role in a Henderson crash that left a 15-year-old girl dead.
Michael Mosley was 16 when he was accused of racing David Jensen, also 16. Jensen crashed, and passenger Olivia Hyten was killed.
Prosecutors charged Michael Mosley with driving under the influence and possession of a switchblade knife. Prosecutors said there wasn’t enough evidence to show he was street racing. His parents said his blood-alcohol content was 0.02 percent, the equivalent of consuming less than one beer.
Jensen crashed the Chevrolet Silverado pickup on a winding stretch of road on Grand Hills Drive . Hyten was partially thrown from the truck and died .
At the time, Michael Mosley was under court order to drive only to and from school and was prohibited from carrying other passengers inside his truck. The court order stemmed from a previous reckless driving case.
