Man, toddler die after falling into Lake Mohave
A man and his 3-year-old son died after falling into Lake Mohave on Sunday morning.
Las Vegas police Lt. Les Lane said the incident occurred about 11:18 a.m. at Six Mile Cove near Searchlight.
Officials with the National Park Service said the 36-year-old man and the child, who were not identified, fell off a raft. Neither was wearing a flotation device .
Authorities said there were no witnesses to the drowning.
Swimmers spotted the man and his son floating in the water about 25 yards from the shoreline.
Bystanders and emergency officials were not able to revive the man. The boy was airlifted to University Medical Center where he later died.
