Pedestrian dies after being struck by pickup Sunday night
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup truck Sunday night on Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard, according to Las Vegas police.
The 63-year-old man was standing in an eastbound lane of Spring Mountain Road about 9:45 p.m. when he was hit by a 1999 Chevrolet Z71 pickup, witnesses told police.
The man was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup, David Majcher, 26, was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
This is the 48th traffic fatality in the Las Vegas police jurisdiction in 2013.
