Pedestrian hit, dragged by vehicle
A pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck and dragged by a vehicle near Rancho Drive and Palomino Lane, Las Vegas police said.
Police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said the crash occurred at 1:06 p.m., after 75-year-old Phillip Marchant stepped into a marked crosswalk, heading east across Rancho Drive. He was struck and then dragged underneath a 2005 Kia Sorento, driven by a 71-year-old man, turning southbound onto Rancho Drive from Palomino Lane.
He was transported to University Medical Center.
