Las Vegas police on Wednesday are looking for a woman in the shooting death of a man in the northeast valley.
Officers received multiple calls to 1750 Marion Drive, near North Nellis Boulevard and East Owens Avenue, at 3:15 p.m. When they arrived, police said they found a man dead from multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment living room.
Homicide Lt. Ray Steiber said that the suspected shooter and the victim were acquaintances and that the shooting was a continuation of an argument that began on Tuesday. Multiple people were present inside the apartment when the shooting happened.
The woman police are seeking in the shooting was identified as 21-year-old Anishya Douglas. She is an African-American woman with short hair who stands about 5 foot 3 inches, Steiber said. She was described as wearing baggy clothes.
Douglas fled the scene and is considered armed and dangerous, Steiber said.
The shooting did not have anything to do with domestic violence or gang activity, Steiber said.
Douglas has a criminal record that includes an active warrant related to misdemeanor domestic battery, court documents show.
Jones Gardens, where the shooting happened, is a public housing development, according to the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.
Numerous neighbors gathered to observe the scene as officers and detectives investigated Wednesday afternoon. The neighbors questioned by the Review-Journal refused to comment.
