Man arrested in hit-and-run crash east of Las Vegas Strip

A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that occurred early Tuesday morning east of the Strip.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred at about 1:10 a.m. on East Flamingo Road west of Palos Verdes Street.
In a news release, police said a pedestrian was crossing Flamingo Road west of Palos Verdes Street outside of a crosswalk. At the same time, a red 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio was traveling west on Flamingo west of Palos Verdes.
The right front of the Alfa Romeo struck the pedestrian, projecting the victim northwest onto the road, police said.
Arriving medical personnel transported the pedestrian, identified as a 66-year-old woman, to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, with life-threatening injuries. However, authorities advised that police were notified that the victim died on June 7.
The Alfa Romeo fled the scene after the crash, police said. However, the vehicle and the driver, Isaac Velasco, 33, were later located at the registered owner’s address, police said.
Velasco, who wasn’t injured, was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run incident, authorities said.
