Man shot in head, drives himself to hospital

A man has serious injuries but is in stable condition after bullet fragments lodged in his head Thursday night.

Lt. Charles Jenkins with Metropolitan Police Department said the unidentified man was shot at the Miracle Mile Mobile Home Park at 3642 Boulder Highway about 9:45 p.m. Jenkins said the bullet grazed the man’s head, but he was able to drive himself to the hospital.

While being examined, bullet fragments were discovered in his head. An ambulance took the man to the trauma center at University Medical Center, Jenkins said.

He said the man was conscious and talking with authorities. Police have a suspect, but had not made any arrests by 1:15 a.m., he said.
