An artist reception is planned from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday for the exhibit "The Art of Conrad Collette: Impressionist" at the Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive. An Evening of Art & Wine featuring works by Robert Marlon is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Grape Street Cafe Wine Bar & Cellar, 7501 W. Lake Mead Blvd. An exhibition of large-scale originals, limited-edition fine art giclees on canvas and smaller matted prints by Marlon will be available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Marlon conceived "Making Waves," a 33 inch x 55 inch mixed media acrylic painting on canvas, in an effort to raise funds and awareness for type 1 diabetes. There will be 40 special-edition posters of "Making Waves" available for $40 each. All poster proceeds will benefit the foundation. Call 228-9463.

The Summerlin Library Book Sale is slated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.
