Children preserve natural resources in new exhibit

"Smokey Bear & Woodsey Owl: Home Sweet Home," an exhibit that explores the outdoors and natural resources, continues through Sept. 25 in the Cultural Gallery at the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, 933 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The exhibit is intended to inspire children to discovery and to care for the natural resources that sustain the world.

Smokey Bear, one of the most recognized symbols of wildfire prevention, and Woodsey Owl, whose message covers multiple areas of conservation, guide visitors through the exhibit that features a variety of education activities, props, costumes and puppets that underscore the importance of protecting the ecosystem. The exhibit is presented in both English and Spanish.

The exhibit was developed by the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service.
