Dining Pick of the Week: Nina’s Cafe

Nina’s Cafe

4825 W. Flamingo Road, No. 10, 702-659-7776

Anyone searching for kosher dairy food that is delicious and well-portioned will find it at Nina’s Cafe. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (including homemade sushi), as well as decadent pastries. Upon entering, patrons will see a sushi bar and the small grocery-like section, which sells goodies imported from Israel. Nina’s offers a variety of food options. Nina’s Classic Breakfast ($15.99) has three eggs cooked to choice, home-style potatoes, a side of Israeli salad and three toppings of choice. The Israeli Shakshuka ($14.99) has three poached eggs in a tomato sauce made with tomatoes, bell peppers and onions, served with an Israeli side salad. Lunch and dinner options include appetizers such as yellowtail ceviche ($9.99) or vegetable tempura ($9.99). Pizzas start at $12.99 for a personal size, and specialty pizzas include the Alfredo or the Carafoli, made with artichokes, spinach and fresh garlic. Freshly made sushi includes sashimi starting at $10 and hosomaki at $4. House rolls include Japanese Lasagna ($9), a baked California roll with cream cheese and yum yum and kabayaki sauces, or the Master of Disaster ($12), spicy tuna and cream cheese wrapped in avocado and topped with kabayaki sauce. While prices may seem higher than those at a regular cafe, Nina’s adheres to the highest standards of kosher dairy products, which are more expensive. Nevertheless, portions are large. Nina’s is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and is closed Friday and Saturday.
