Wes Craven died on Sunday at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of screams like no other in the film world. Craven, who died after a battle with brain cancer, became a legendary horror filmmaker with the “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream” franchises.
Beyond the multiple films that came along with both franchises, Craven was at the helm for a series of other films — some so terrifying they’re hard to watch, some that influenced horror filmmakers of the next generation and one that gave Meryl Street an Academy Award.
