Sinatra impersonator slams CBS Sinatra tribute
Longtime Frank Sinatra impressionist Bob Anderson has slammed the CBS Sinatra special featuring Grammy stars in a Facebook rant on Monday.
The two-hour special aired on Sunday night.
Anderson, whose Sinatra show ended at The Palazzo two weeks before Sinatra’s birthday, said CBS show was “a tremendous letdown” and added, “I understand that the performers were out of their league.”
Anderson said “a whole lotta people should be fired for not having a clue about what they were doing.”
The show was held at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.
Anderson said the artists, the Sinatra family, some of whom attended the taping last Wednesday, and Wynn should not have supported it.
“The only smart thing in that whole show was Tony (Bennett) singing one song and getting the hell out of there!”
“No folks,” he wrote, “I am not upset about not being on that show, after all…it was Garth Brooks who sang the line “sometimes I thank God for un-answered prayers.”
Anderson added, “Can I get an Amen!”
Update: Anderson called to take issue with my clause that stated he didn’t see the show. I based it on his quote, “I understand that the performers were out of their league.” I removed the clause and apologized to Anderson.
