There she is … competing against 52 other women to advance in the 2013 Miss America Competition.
The Miss America preliminaries kick off Tuesday and run through Jan. 10 in PH Live at the Planet Hollywood Resort, 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
The preliminaries consist of the following categories: artistic expression (talent); presentation and community achievement (interview); presence and poise (evening wear); and lifestyle and fitness (swimsuit).
Nevada is represented in the competition by Randi Sundquist, 22, of Elko.
Tickets for the preliminaries, which take place each day at 8 p.m., are $87.15. Tickets for the finals, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 12, are $165.80. To purchase them, call 800-745-3000.
The pageant will be broadcast (tape-delayed locally) at 9 p.m. on KTNV-TV, Channel 13.
