5-year-old writes adorable letter to stop neighborhood speeders
It only takes one person to make a difference, no matter what age.
In Ohio, 5-year-old Presley Keeton is an average girl who enjoys riding her bike and playing soccer outside. She likes to play in her neighborhood that has a posted speed limit of 25 mph.
Unlike the average young girl, she became concerned about how fast people would drive down her street and contacted the police.
Presley wrote a letter to the local police department and invited them to come see the problem for themselves. “It was a picture of the road and every car was going above the speed limit,” Presley told WJW-TV. “One car was going 89.”
The letter appears to read, “911 come to: Bassett Rd … you would catch 1 million speeders.”
Officer Tony Lavolpa responded to the complaint and within an hour of watching the road, caught a handful of speeders.
Her father and the police were both impressed by the little girl’s initiative and the example she set for others. And although her street is a little bit safer in the time since, Presley said “there is still more speeders to catch.”
