EVENTS
MernaLyn, author of “The 10 Second Diet,” will do a reading from her book and answer questions at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde, Henderson. The event is free (733-6292).
The annual Vegas Valley Book Festival will be Thursday through Saturday with discussions, readings, signings, workshops, exhibits and programs scheduled at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, and Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St. Author Charlaine Harris will be the keynote speaker at 7 p.m. Thursday at Clark County Library. A book signing and reception will follow the discussion. Admission is free. Wristbands will be given out in the library’s theater courtyard starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, more than 30 teen fiction and fantasy authors will participate in panel discussions, readings and other activities, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School.
