Show Us Your Purse

■ Who? Andrea Behrens, vice president of Nevada Association Services Inc. and executive producer of Homeowner Talk TV
■ Location: On the set of Homeowner Talk TV at the KCLV studio
■ Handbag: A lululemon bag that does double duty as a diaper bag. With a 5-month-old son and 2-year-old daughter, I’m always running between work, kids activities and the gym. I need something stylish that can take a beating and holds everything.
■ Are handbags status symbols? Yes, I think they say a lot about you and the image you want to portray. A handbag can describe you as soon as you walk into a room. I prefer classic styles that are both sophisticated and understated.
■ What does this bag say about you? Creative, fun, sporty and on the go.
■ If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? That I’m organized and stylish. And my family comes first.
■ What’s the most important item you’ve carried in your bag? The key to a VW bug my parents drove when I was very young. My father died when I was 4 years old and many of my memories of him are associated with that car. I carry the key in my wallet.
■ What’s the strangest item you’ve carried in your bag? One of my daughter’s sandbox toys that was chewed up by one of our dogs. I kept the toy in my bag as a reminder to buy a new one while they were still on sale.
■ Tell us about the first special bag you owned. A Gucci bag I bought for myself in 2006. It fits everything inside, looks great with business attire, going out clothes or jeans and a T-shirt. When I first bought the bag, my husband teased me that I would kick him out so the bag had a seat next to me. To this day it’s my favorite.
■ Knockoffs: Love ’em or hate ’em? I used to love knockoffs. Now I would only purchase the real thing. There is something to be said about owning the real thing.
■ Image is … great self-confidence and how you carry yourself with the right purse and the right outfit. You have to have the right purse or it will ruin even the best outfit.
■ What’s in your bag? 1. Ahava cosmetic bag, 2. Postcard for a free trial class at Las Vegas Bootcamp, 3. Baby Safe sunscreen towelettes 4. Name necklace my niece made me when we took our first trip to New York with my daughter, 5. Nevada Association Services cookie, 6. Reusable water bottle.
