Freedom Park pool celebrates anniversary
The Summer Kick-off & Safety Fair and first-year anniversary celebration of the Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Freedom Park will take place Saturday.
Participants can enjoy open swimming, play on the water slide, watch demonstrations, learn about sun and water safety, participate in organized games and view a variety of information booths from noon to 4 p.m. at 889 N. Pecos Road.
City of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services staff will share information regarding swim lessons, aquatics teams, summer passes and pool rentals.
The entry fee will be $3 per person.
Patrons will receive a slice of anniversary cake as they exit the facility, while supplies last.

Everyone who enters the pool must wear a swimsuit. All children 3 and younger must wear a swim diaper, available at the pool for $2.
No street clothes, cutoffs, jean shorts or cotton material will be allowed in the pool.
Open swimming on summer passes begins Saturday at the pool as well as at the Doolittle, Municipal and Pavilion Center pools.
Baker and Garside pools open June 11.
Summer passes are sold at all pools.
Meanwhile, registration is open now for swim lessons and teams offered June 11 through Aug. 11.
Swim, dive, synchronized swimming and water polo teams also are offered.
