Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, see birds in flight and sandstone formations on an easy, two-mile hike in Red Spring; for ages 12 and older. On Wednesday, experience the beauty of Red Rock on a moderate, 3.3-mile hike in Pine Creek; for ages 10 and older. On May 6, enjoy the full moon on a moderate, three-mile night hike along the Calico I trail; for ages 10 and older. Also on May 6, seek wildflowers on an easy-to-moderate, four-mile hike along Pine Creek; for ages 6 and older.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various levels of difficulty. Call (702) 823-2355 or visit the club’s website, www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, view types of arachnids, reptiles, birds and mammals found in Red Rock in a tabletop presentation from 11 a.m. to noon at the visitor center. On Saturday, learn about the desert tortoise.
